Brussels, March 26, 2025 — The European Commission has introduced significant amendments to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/2067, aimed at enhancing the verification processes for greenhouse gas emissions and related data. These updates, set to take effect in 2025, reflect the EU’s ongoing commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
The amendments expand the scope of verification to include climate-neutrality reports and non-CO2 aviation effects reports, ensuring that these critical areas are subject to the same rigorous standards as other emissions data. This expansion is part of a broader effort to harmonise verification rules across different sectors, promoting consistency and reliability in reporting.
