The European Commission has unveiled a draft implementing regulation aimed at establishing the FuelEU database, a critical component in the EU’s strategy to promote the use of renewable and low-carbon fuels in maritime transport. This regulation, which has not yet been formally adopted, outlines a comprehensive framework for access rights and the functional and technical specifications of the FuelEU database. The Commission is now inviting stakeholders to provide feedback on this preliminary draft, emphasising that the views expressed are not yet official policy.
